Winter Survival Campaign

January - March

  • Bring in blankets, jackets, scarves, hats, gloves and boots for members and their children

  • Join the winter canvass campaign to reach members and potential members in their homes, where many risk no-heat situations or other emergencies

  • Collect high-protein and other staple foods: peanut butter, rice, soups, vegetable oil, eggs, beans, lentils, and participate in food and supplies distributions and deliveries

Spring Expansion Campaign

April - May

  • Help run WFWA’s annual Spring Brunch and Children’s Easter Egg Hunt to build unity among members and allies in the community

  • Help run food drives to collect canned and dried goods such as pasta, nut butters, rice, beans, tomato products, cooking oil and maseca, as well as fresh items like eggs and vegetables

  • Sign up as a bilingual volunteer

  • Learn utility advocacy to prevent shutoffs from high winter heating bills

Farm Worker Summer Campaign

July - August

  • Host a collection of work clothing, food, brimmed hats, sunscreen, personal hygiene items or cooling fans at your religious community, group, club or classroom

  • Volunteer on Operation Camp Crews to assist in uniting migrant farm workers and distributing requested material resources

  • Invite WFWA speakers to your religious community, group, club or classroom to build material support for the fight for justice for farm workers

  • Help organize medical education and information sessions with volunteer professionals about how workers can stay healthy in the summer heat

  • Advocate to stop deadly utility shutoffs

Back-to-School Campaign

July - August

  • Help collect and distribute school supplies and new and like-new school clothing for WFWA members and their children

  • Learn to advocate for members to overcome barriers to enrolling their children in school

  • Participate on Back-to-School supply distributions to migrant labor camps and enrolled local seasonal and service worker members

Holiday Campaign

October - December

  • Help organize a Trick-or-Treat for Farm Workers food drive and a Safe and Sane Halloween Party for members’ children with their parents

  • Collect and distribute Halloween costumes for member families enrolled in a participatory budget-saving program

  • Collect turkeys and all the holiday fixings for Thanksgiving and Holiday Food Basket distributions in November and December and deliver them to members

  • Collect toys for distribution to members for private gift-giving to their children

  • Organize WFWA’s Family Holiday Party for member families
