Here to Win, Here to Stay!
Welcome!
WESTERN FARM WORKERS ASSOCIATION (WFWA) was founded in 1986 in the Sacramento Valley. We are a free and voluntary, unincorporated private membership association of farm workers, seasonal workers and others who are low income, uniting to end our poverty conditions. Our membership organizing drive reaches five counties and is steadily growing. We are 100% volunteer run and independent of government funding.
While it is the labor of farm workers that feeds the people of this country, too frequently they are unable to afford the very fruits of their labor, and lack organization to change the policies that impact their lives. That is why we built WFWA.

California’s farms and ranches generate $60 billion a year in agricultural output. Sacramento Valley alone produces $5 billion in agricultural output, including 90% of California’s rice exports. The labor of WFWA’s members creates this wealth, yet farm workers are treated as second-class citizens.
Yolo County produces $694 million in fruits, vegetables and nuts
Sutter County produces $772 million in rice, walnuts, tomatoes, cling peaches and prunes
Yuba County produces $257 million in rice, kiwis, walnuts, livestock and prunes/dried plums
Colusa County produces $553 million in almonds, rice and walnuts

Membership is open to anyone who is, has been or may in the future be employed in farm work or other types of employment unrecognized by the national labor laws. It is only through the constant efforts of the membership that WFWA will finally be able to end the brutal conditions that confront farm and seasonal workers living in the Sacramento Valley.
